The Kwan does not know if it is a shrimp, a crab, or a small bottom creature, and neither do the fish. That ambiguity is its superpower. It looks like food to everything that feeds on the bottom, which on the Gulf Coast is everything. Justin Mayer designed it and then everyone else started copying it, which is the highest compliment in fly tying and the most sincere form of intellectual property theft.
