Maine has two seasons: winter and July. The Kennebec Woolly Bugger is productive in both, which puts it ahead of most things in the Pine Tree State, including the roads. This olive-and-black marabou creation swims through the Kennebec's big water with the lazy confidence of a leech that knows it is on the menu regardless of what it does. Brook trout eat it because they are hungry. Landlocked salmon eat it because they are angry. Either way, you are tight to a fish in some of the most beautiful water on the East Coast, surrounded by moose, loons, and the faint sound of your cell phone getting zero bars.
