Lee Wulff believed a good game fish is too valuable to catch only once, and he built a fly worthy of that philosophy. The Royal Wulff is part attractor, part tradition, and entirely effective. The white calf tail wings are visible from orbit, the peacock herl body flashes green and copper, and the red floss band adds a touch of formality -- like a tie at a barbecue. It does not match any particular hatch, which is precisely the point.
